<p> <i>I&#39;ve been looking and applying from</i> a month ago. I posted my resume online with plenty of attractions in the form of employment. Not to mention all the resumes I mailed mail to the individual openings. And several direct business applications such as Boeing, Safeway, QFC, Board of Alcoholic Beverage Control, Comcast, just to name few. And nothing! I&#39;m starting to wonder if by applying on-line I&#39;m not really getting a fair consideration. How I can know that someone is actually we will look at my resume and give me a fair chance? I apply in person to avoid this problem, but they do everything online. Most places do not even lead to more applications. It&#39;s not like I&#39;m illiterate or have no experience in the standings, it&#39;s frustrating to see thousands of openings, spending hours a day for applying each one, and perhaps 10 respone whole month? Something is not right! </p>
<p> First, I would say that is not the time to panic yet. A month is &quot;nothing&quot; in an economy in recession and 10 responses is GREAT! Although no mention of the line of work you are looking for sounds from the list of companies that are facing may not be very specific to a sector in which you have experience, and so on. Remember that when you apply for 50 jobs a month, each position is receive and review, probably 100 applications. Can search by networking through friends and family? Many jobs are not yet published, but filled through word of mouth. The &quot;majority&quot; I think I&#39;ve read. </p>

<p> <strong>I sold it on eBay last week for $ 45!</strong> I saw others who were selling for twice that amount! (Indeed, I&#39;m not kidding, I SOLD their promotional package!) </p>
<p> Anyway, a simple letter, a well written sales page offers a driving test I have come to the exhibition hall, located 27 miles away in. around .. oh .. 17.3 minutes! (I get faster, but there are plenty of red lights 2004 Turbo and all I have is not as fast as the new 500 horsepower one.) </p>

<p> In recent months I&#39;ve been on a quest to meet the marketing materials of all high-end club and real estate development in the country, besides a number outside the country. This is partly because I&#39;m seeking a second home and partly because I just wanted to see how most marketing is really bad when orchestrated by traditional ad agencies (like the Porsche campaign.) </p>
<p> I have samples of pamphlets bound in leather large hardcover books disguised as brochures, multimedia packages with DVDs, videos and kitchen sink closed. Moreover, almost all conceivable variations of glossy paper and a glossy brochure. All side tens of thousands to produce, in addition, some up to $ 5 each to email </p>
<p> <strong>The only thing I have no more than 100 examples is a letter</strong> Sales DECENT, NO ONE! </p>
<p> All of them have poor or no headlines, no story, NO evidence, calls to action and no about three hundred good deals. More than five million dollars worth of marketing by the proverbial drain, but you know what, I bet you won some prizes! </p>
<p> Here is another observation that can only really appreciate if you look at a dozen or more packages (exactly the sort of thing twisted a real prospect could actually do it!) </p>
<p> All these high-end &quot;vision&quot; brochures look and sound EXACTLY the same. I can not say reading your vision if the property is located in Carolina, Utah, Colorado, California or Timbuktu! </p>
<p> Some clubs even use the same population art! </p>
<p> None tell the real story of the development or the club and many clubs have GREAT stories clamoring to be told! </p>
<p> Direct Mail is the most effective real estate marketing, membership, golf days or travel. Getting a great response is much more about the development a good sales letter that it is spending $ 50,000 on the pictures, printing and mailing. </p>
<p> You only have to succeed once from the simplest approach writing sales letters MURDERER costs about 90% less than the agency TYPICAL campaign to turn to life. </p>

<p>If it's already been performed, why didn't you engage backers at that point?  Your publicist should be marketing this to potential money bags now!!!  Try to throw a fundraiser performance.  Get your celeb cast members to invite everyone they know and get the publicist involved in that.  Have a cast pow-wow and brainstorm on who you know and who owes you a favor <img src='http://www.directmailmarketer.org/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' />   Time to cash in, literally.  The publicist should be contacting all local papers and tv stations as soon as you have dates and times.  The paper can be doing stories now and interviewing as well.  Work your celeb angle.  If they are also promoting any upcoming movies ask them to please mention the play and location when they go on Letterman, Leno, etc.  Wear a t-shirt with the show on it... something different for each show.  Do you have hats?  T-shirts?  </p>
<p>You cn also sell ad space in your programs.  Go to businesses and have no shame about pimping your celebs.  Be ready to rattle off their resume but also inform them about the show and it's message or whatever.</p>
<p>Your location doesn't help, just depends on how far from NY.  Check the NJ film association, commissions, alliances, etc. See who's filming in their state and might be able to attend your event.  Not sure if IMBD.com has any helpful info on that front... </p>

The last time I did this the market was screaming hot and the response rate was less than 0.5%. I also was sending between 500-1000 a week on my own. What has been your experience with mail clients recently and believe it is a cost / time effective option? </p>
<p> Its success rate is normal. With the advent of the National Do Not Call List, more people went to direct mail and the response rate is very low (most times). The best thing I have achieved is 2.7% and we can not maintain that consistently. Over time that is less than 1 / 2 of 1%. We have found more success with sponsored links on specific web pages. For example, we sponsored ads on the website of our local newspaper, and get reasonable results at very low cost. Try http://www.reachlocal.com contact and see if they can help ... our success with them has been good. </p>
